Beware of Bootlegs!
Why You Should Care
- If you buy bootlegs, you are supporting design thieves and taking money away from Vance Project/BABYsue,
who created the Pinkys that you love.
- Even if your reason for buying bootlegs is to practice modifying the bodies, will the end result really
work with your genuine Pinkys? How do you know they're even the same materials?
AUTHENTIC ITEMS are those that have:
- The "restricted" symbol (R in a circle) next to the main logo
- The Vance Project/Baby Sue logos in the bottom right hand corner of the front of the package
- On Pinky:cos sets, the button on their pants must be painted.
If any of these characteristics are missing from Pinkys you bought/are thinking about buying,
please don't! Authentic Pinky:st. figures retail at ¥680. I have heard endless horror stories about
not only the quality of these fake Pinkys, but also their disproportion to the originals!

Back Packaging
The bottom packaging is also a dead giveaway. If you're looking at buying something on eBay or a similar place,
protect yourself from bootlegs and request a picture of the back packaging. Here are some examples of
authentic back packaging vs. bootleg back packaging:

Korean Bootlegs
Unfortunately, there are now some Korean bootlegs floating around. Please do not buy them! Here's what they
look like:
Tips to Spot Bootlegs:
Packages with no Vance Project/BABYsue logos
Packages with mixed up fashions - Notice how none of these have the bottom logos!
Overly tilting/close together legs, makes them look like they're leaning.
Notice how Asuka's button is painted, but Rei's is not. But these are both bootlegs, please be careful!
Single-packed Rei or Asuka from Evangelion (notice the unpainted buttons, too)
